Firm History
Founded in 1962 as the Florida Bankers Insurance Trust (FBIT), our organization began as a not-for-profit serving the Florida Bankers Association (FBA). At that time, our primary role was to provide employee benefits and services to FBA members.
Over the years, we've expanded capabilities to cover a broad range of benefit process outsourcing services. In the early 1990s, FBIT became a separate entity, and entered into an exclusive health care agreement with BlueCross BlueShield of Florida. We also established important relationships with the market leaders in dental, life, disability, vision, FSAs, and other ancillary benefits.
In 2006, we completed a three-year upgrade of work processes and systems. Over that time, our organization had grown by more than 80%, and significantly improved operations and customer service. That's why we've changed our name to SelectSource –
reflecting our “new” organization and extensive outsourcing capabilities. We’ve also greatly enhanced our clients' access to high-quality health care benefits by partnering with Aetna and CIGNA.
Today, SelectSource delivers one-source administrative solutions to about 150 financial institutions and nearly 100 other employers, serving a total of more than 18,000 employees.

SelectSource offers two types of services: Standard (replacing insurer invoicing
and data management) and Optional (supplemental services, customized to your specific needs). These services are as follows:
Standard Services (Basic Package)
- “Plug and play” system (multiple employee locations and benefit vendors)
- Consolidated billing (a single invoice covering benefit premiums for all of your carriers)
- Data integration and reconciliation
- Access to reports on all benefits, participants, and plan financials
- Exports to payroll and other systems
